Hosted at Soneike High School in Kuilsriver, the event encouraged learners to learn basic knitting skills while creating items for those in need.
The initiative was further strengthened through a valued partnership with Falke Socks, whose generous donations in support of Coin Care contributed significantly to the success of the day, reflecting the true spirit of unity, compassion, and service that Madiba Day represents.

Breast Cancer Awareness Session & Hand over - Oct 2025
Cancer awareness at COIN began in 2023 after a powerful personal testimony shared during a weekly session inspired the Executive Committee to host a dedicated awareness event, laying the foundation for what has since become an annual initiative. What started as a single gathering has grown into a meaningful programme that combines education with hands-on service, with COIN committing each year to support breast cancer patients in provincial hospitals.
In 2024, members sewed and distributed care bags filled with essential items to patients at Groote Schuur Hospital, bringing comfort and dignity while showcasing the strength of community collaboration and earning local media recognition. Through these ongoing efforts, COIN continues to stand in solidarity with cancer patients by offering compassion, hope, and practical support where it is most needed.
